As many players look to the future of the franchise that houses The Witcher, there are surprisingly still those taking it for a spin for the first time.

Much like Skyrim, the series stands as one of the strongest representations of the possibilities that can be found in fantasy games, and a calling card for the insurmountable things you can do in the medium.

And once upon a time, that meant scranning turkey legs while entirely submerged in water. but those days are no longer. Take your meals to dry land because CD Projekt Red has robbed us of our right to eat horrible soggy food.

What about our rights? The next-gen edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt keeps making brand-new fixes and changes to the game to keep it the best way to experience the iconic title. As part of these new fixes, Geralt can no longer eat his food underwater.

"With the exception of potions and decoctions, it's now impossible for Geralt to eat or drink underwater," read the blasphemous 4.03 patch notes released onto the The Witcher website. "While the team agreed it might be possible to drink liquids from a corked flask, consuming pints of ale or grilled meats underwater is too much of a stretch."

We know that in many ways, The Witcher strives for realism - but this is robbing us of our chance to eat turkey while slowly drowning. It was fun while it lasted.

What else is new in The Witcher 3?

Along with nixing our right to drink mead mixed with delicious salt water, the newest update has allowed players to activate the automatic application of oils in combat, added the Next Gen Script Fixes mod by Sergeanur, and has fixed some lighting problems with the PS5's performance mode, as well as some more general bug fixes.

It’'s certainly nice to know that CD Projekt Red is staying on top of The Witcher even now, and even though there are many new games on the way from the franchise, the maintenance of its most iconic title is still clearly important to the team. That's ven if it's robbed us of our underwater scran.
