Esports as a collective is having a blast to the past in 2022, as teams who reigned supreme in generations gone by have become to climb back to the top of the mountain. OpTic Texas recently lifted their first Major trophy since 2018 with a victory in the Call of Duty: Vanguard debut event, FaZe Clan handled a A-Tier trophy at IEM Katowice for the first time since early 2019, and T1 have ripped their way through the League of Legends Championships Korea (LCK) with a flawless record, leaving them set for their first regional victory in three years.

Having seen FaZe and OpTic return to the glory days in their respected titles, T1 has seemingly fancied a slice of the pie too, finding a god-like form to blitz through the league play without a single loss.

T1 Go Unbeaten in LCK Spring Split

The organisation has been without success since 2019, where they won both LCK Playoff splits before falling short of a fourth World Championship success, and have been hungry to reclaim their place on the League of Legends throne.

T1 Equal 2015 Record Unbeaten Streak

An impressive semi-final bow-out at Worlds began to put some respect back on the name of T1 - despite a narrow loss to Korean counterparts DAMWON Kia - lighting a spark in their belly going into 2022. Since their 2-3 loss in Iceland, T1 has not tasted defeat, and have been the demise of every team in their wake.

With Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok recapturing his form of old to be the deadliest mid-laner in Korea, T1 has now matched their previous record for the longest win streak in LCK history, and are now just four matches away from completing a flawless split.

T1 Unbeaten Run Equals 2015 Record For Longest Win Streak In LCK History

The 14-0 record for T1 equals the longest winning streak in the history of the LCK, matching their own record set in 2015. The decisive win came against KT Rolster, who put up a fight worthy of a result, although T1's team composition proved too difficult to overcome. Pivotally, it was the combination of a beefy Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong and a lustful Faker, continuing his record-breaking individual performances, who tipped the scales for T1.

Previously known as SK Telecom T1, the LCK Summer Split kicked off in a parallel fashion, with Faker and his teammates putting on a 14-win streak to start their campaign. The org did eventually lose their 15th consecutive game to the hands of a now-disbanded CJ Entus team.

Promisingly for the LCK veterans, last time Faker was in this position, he led the T1 side to their second Summoners Cup, famously lifting the World Championship trophy in Berlin.

Now, with Freecs (6th), Brion Esports (5th), SANDBOX Gaming (9th), and DRX (4th) standing in their way, they could go the whole split unbeaten - a feat that has never been achieved.
