There are always a ton of great deals flying around on Black Friday, and gaming accessories are a huge part of that. You’ll be hard-pressed not to find controllers, headsets, keyboards, mice, and much more on sale during the biggest sales day of the year.

However, it’s not very often you find an official accessory marked down for the occasion. This year appears to be different, as Microsoft has discounted the official Xbox controller with a huge saving, making it the perfect time to pick up an extra pair.

While many unofficial controllers celebrate the fact they come with many bells and whistles, sometimes there’s nothing better than owning the real thing. With the official Xbox controller, you’re guaranteed to get all the perks and benefits that come with playing on the system.

Not only that, but if you’re not a console gamer, it’s perfect for PC gaming. Many games on PC contain controller support, and more often than not, the official Xbox controller is put forth as the frontrunner. You’ll need a USB cable or a wireless dongle to hook it up to your setup, but once done, you’ll freely be able to play on PC and connect it back to your console in just a few simple steps.

The latest design of the controller - that launched alongside the Xbox Series X|S - features some neat new features. Most notable is the inclusion of a capture button, allowing you to take screenshots at the press of a button or even a video if you hold it down for a few seconds.

It even features texturized grips to allow you more comfort and control when playing your favourite games. There’s a reason the Xbox controller has had minimal design changes over the years and instead works on refining its features.

The official Xbox controller is available for $39.99 at Best Buy, marking a saving of $25 for Black Friday
