Overwatch 2 has a lot of making up to do.

For the most part, though players are enjoying the experience of playing what is basically Overwatch again with a few maps being a little darker, the launch of the free-to-play follow-up has been a catastrophe. DDoS attacks, extortionate skins, characters being pulled from the game entirely and then having the nerve to ask players to buy those lost character's skins - the launch of the game has been a total mess.

It's not ideal, and with it being a live-service game that has just got a huge new wave of players, there are of course growing pains to consider. But even so, now that fans don't even have the first game to fall back on, it's a bit of a kick in the teeth.

Blizzard seems to hope that their new content will help players to forget, though - and a huge reveal is set to come this weekend to prove it.

Ramattra Is Set To Be Revealed This Weekend

Earlier this month saw the reveal of the origin story of the brand-new hero set to come to Overwatch 2. Ramattra, the leader of Null Sector who will do all in his power to ensure a better life for Omnics, was revealed on November 5 to mass intrigue.

The character is set to join the game's lineup of tank characters at the start of season two on December 6 - but we're not stuck until then to see him in action, as it has been revealed that we'll be getting a full gameplay reveal of the character and his two forms on November 26.

It'll be interesting to see how the new character synergises with different team compositions in the game, though it'll certainly be a while before we get to try it, as now that there is only one tank character per team in the game, lobbies are bound to be clogged with players trying to try him out.

Overwatch 2 Has A New Double XP Weekend Coming

If you were looking for an excuse to take Overwatch 2 for a spin before Ramattra arrives, there's no better time to do so than this weekend, as starting tomorrow, players will be receiving twice their usual XP in games.

Starting from November 24 and running until November 28, the Double XP weekend will also offer players login rewards of highlight intros, like Junker Queen's 'Five Fingers' for logging in before November 26, and Kiriko's 'On the Wind' for logging in between November 27 and December 2.
