Octane Discovers AN-94 Bug Allowing Players To One-Burst Opponents
The AN-94 is one of the most welcome and well-received DLC weapons to be included in Modern Warfare. After being introduced alongside the ISO submachine gun in Season 5, the AN-94 assault rifle made its comeback within Call of Duty franchise, after debuting in Black Ops 2.
Whilst DLC weapons such as the Grau 5.56 and the Bruen MK9 have dominated in Warzone, the AN-94 has finally broken the meta in assault rifles on multiplayer. Especially in the competitive scene. Since day one of Modern Warfare, the M4A1 has gone unrivalled, with all AR slayers opting for the M4, until now.
The best assault rifle mains in the Call of Duty League have begun making the transition to the AN-94. Chicago Huntsmen's Alec "Arcitys" Sanderson has been shredding with it in scrimmages ahead of the World Championship playoffs on August 19, and Seattle Surge's Sam "Octane" Larew has opted to pull out the Black Ops 2 throwback too.
In Octane's most recent YouTube upload, he discusses the viability of the AN-94 on the professional circuit, hoping it doesn't get banned through the Gentlemen's Agreement, and goes on to showcase a strange bug, which allows two bullets to be fired when on single-fire mode, making for some brutal one-bursts to the head.
Roughly 5 minutes into the video, Octane switches to single-fire and demonstrates two bullets leaving the magazine, rather than one, explaining that it can actually kill an enemy in two bullets if the burst connects with an enemies head.
"I was doing it today in scrims, just like messing with people, and they really didn't enjoy it at all" Octane claimed.
Whether the bug will be patched before the World Championships is yet to be known, although there is a weapon balance update due before the championships end on August 30.

Should the gun also avoid ridicule due to the GA, Octane looks to have made the permanent switch from the M4A1 to the AN-94, ahead of champs. Stating "Honestly, I hope I get to use this AR because I used it in scrims today, but the general consensus of the pro community is that it is a little too close to champs for a new gun, which I'm really against. We used a pistol for the first time all year at champs, and it turned out to be one of the best guns on the game and for some reason, we used that. So I'm hoping that the pro players give me some leeway here so I can actually use this thing" in his video.
