Swedish Fortnite player Moqii Zoldyck became the first ever female to win during Fortnite Championships Series (FNCS) Qualifiers.

The 14-year-old is a part of Gen.G’s European team and has been competing in Fortnite esports since she surpassed the required age of 13. In the qualifiers she beat some of the world's leading players to finish first during Sunday’s Chapter 2 - Season 3 qualifiers.

Over the seven qualifying matches Moqii racked up an impressive 94 points, accumulated by three victory royales and an average of six eliminations per game. Her feat also comes in solos, making the accomplishment additionally brilliant.

Moqii managed to edge the win by just one point, with fellow competitor ‘twitter weqfn’ coming in second place with 93 points. She also beat players such as FaZe Mongraal who came in 8th place with 73 points. Moqii also managed this in the PC split, which is arguably more difficult than the console split.

Whilst she becomes the first ever female to win the qualifiers, Moqii herself is no stranger to Fortnite esports, with other notable achievements coming at events such as DreamHack Anaheim, where in Stage 3 (the Grand Finals), she finished at the 44th ranked player in the world.

Her win will have to come with some sustained performances if Moqii wants to replicate this at the Grand Finals, with two more qualification series left before the finals take place on August 14 – 16. With many points left to acquire before the finals, Moqii will look to continue in her form to earn a place in the top 100 which will grant her qualification.

Season 2 ended with MCES Andilex and Grizi Nayte coming out on top in the European PC event, taking home the $70,000 prize reward.

With less than two weeks until the conclusion of the Fortnite Championship Series, stay tuned at GGRecon for more updates.
