Now we know Modern Warfare 3 is bringing back the iconic MW2 (2009) maps of old in a glorious remastered form, the attention has shifted to game modes.

These are the pillars of multiplayer and luckily, Sledgehammer Games are not looking to disappoint when it comes to game modes in MW3.

As well as the classics, Modern Warfare 3 will be offering a new experience that pits three separate squads against each other.

The new MW3 game mode is called "Cutthroat," and it's certainly going to provide plenty of high-octane action for players.

Call of Duty has its tried and true classic modes, but it's always exciting to see what the next CoD is willing to bring to the table.

Well, in MW3 at launch, it's going to be the "Cutthroat" game mode that offers 3v3v3 competition on the game's core maps.

The dynamic of having three different squads of opponents against you is going to completely change the way you're going to have to navigate the battlefield.

Coordination is going to be key, as looking to third-party a team already engaged in combat could be the number one strategy.

What other modes are coming with MW3?

When it comes to the MW3's standard modes, we know TDM, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint are all on the cards, as well as others that haven't been revealed just yet.

On top of that, Ground War will be available on three maps and War Mode on one map. All of this should give players a huge amount to get stuck into on release.

This is all especially exciting given the community will be competing on the classic MW2 (2009) maps that will give fans a nostalgia hit like never before.
