League of Legends has given Pentakill a makeover in the lead-up to their third album release. They've also revealed that Viego is joining the band.

Each member of the band has been given a leather jacket as part of their brand-new look, except for Mordekaiser, who is predictably rocking a new set of armour.

What Is Pentakill In League Of Legends?

Pentakill is a virtual heavy-metal band, that sounds kind of similar to Metallica/Iron Maiden, made up of characters from League of Legends.

Their first album dropped in 2014, and has enjoyed runaway success. Their top song on Spotify - Lightbringer - has an eye-watering 25 million listens (at the time of writing), which any artist would tell you is quite an impressive feat.

Last year, Riot’s creative director Christian "Praeco" Linke teased the album, saying: "There will definitely be another Pentakill album that features original music. At least a handful, up to 10 songs or so - we’re definitely all eager to get back into it."

Which League Of Legends Characters Are In Pentakill?

Kayle, Karthus, Mordekaiser, Olaf, Sona, and Yorick make up the current line-up of the band, with Viego joining shortly as a new guitarist. They share the same universe with other musical acts in the game, such as DJ, K/DA, and True Damage.

Pentakill is bringing out a new album that is due for release on September 8, 2021 after a four-year hiatus.

So, not long to wait at all. It's safe to assume that they will be celebrating the album with a 'live' performance from the band at Worlds (League of Legends World Championship). A performance wouldn't be out of the ordinary, as it has been done by Riot Games previously. Most recently, the LCS Mid-Season Showdown event earlier this year.
