It'd be fair to say Logitech is on a roll recently, with some our most consistently well-reviewed products, but the manufacturer's Logi Plays event showcased there's plenty to come.
As part of the showcase, the company revealed a new Astro headset, new keyboards, mice, a racing wheel, and even new Streamlabs software functionality for Fortnite players.
Everything revealed at Logi Plays 2024
As part of its ever-growing PRO series, Logitech G announced two new mice. The Pro 2 Lightspeed is an upgrade to the prior version with an ambidextrous design with the latest HERO 2 sensor which introduces 8KHz polling.
On the other hand, quite literally, is the Pro X Superlight 2 Dex, an asymmetrical offering with speeds of 888 inches per second. Logitech says it's geared towards pro players from the likes of Counter-Strike and VALORANT.
They're joined in the PRO series by a new version of the PRO X TKL, this time with a magnetic analogue keyboard - a first for Logitech. Players can customise actuation points without software, but as with all Logitech G products, you'll be able to customise much of it in the G Hub application.
Still, this means tweaking actuation is available in tournament setups where the likes of G Hub aren't allowed.
I reviewed the Astro A50 X last year and found it to be an excellent headset option, but Logitech will now offer a slightly cheaper Astro A50 Gen 5 alternative.
It drops the HDMI switching capabilities of its bigger brother but uses PLAYSYNC Audio to switch between platforms using USB connectivity, making it easy to sit on your desk and shift between console and PC. It still offers 24-Bit wireless and PRO-G Graphene Drivers for clear, consistent audio that allows for a lighter headset.
I'm particularly excited about the return of the G915, my first gaming keyboard when I picked up my PC in 2020. The new G915 X packs many of the same core features like low-profile keys and dedicated media buttons, but finally shifts the lineup to USB-C.
Keys shouldn't rub off after long periods of use, either, and there's a whole new switch type that I'm eager to get my hands on, as well as up to 800 hours of battery life with backlight off. It'll come in a TKL and wireless version, too.
Racing fans will be able to pick up the manufacturer's new Racing Series ecosystem soon, with a new RS Wheel Hub to lock into a sim-racing frame. From there, users can attach a track wheel or round wheel attachment, and there's a QR adapter for other aftermarket wheel options, too.
You can also use an RS Shifter and Handbrake attachment for the full sim racing experience, but each piece is sold separately.
Finally, Logitech's Streamlabs will now record your Fortnite highlights automatically. The new tech, dubbed 'AI Game Highlighter' will make it easy to grab clips and format them quickly for multiple platforms.
The technology only works with Fortnite right now, but the team at Streamlabs is hoping to roll it out to additional titles in the coming months.
