According to reports, Team Liquid are trialling Jakob "JUGi" Hansen for their VALORANT roster after the former Astralis Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) AWper main looks to try his trade in Riot Games' FPS shooter.

Reports from Jarek "Dekay" Lewis explain that JUGi has recently been playing with Team Liquid in place of Adam "ec1s" Eccles, although it is not yet clear as to whether the move was successful or not.

The 23-year-old Dane has racked up roughly $114,000 in prize money during his five-year career in CS:GO with stints at Astralis, North, OpTic Gaming, and Heroic. Having won major titles at DreamHack Seville and World Cyber Arena 2017, JUGi has recently expressed his intentions to get back on a team, whether it be in VALORANT or CS:GO. Tweeting in December, JUGi said whilst he prefers the AWper role, he's open to offers of all kinds. Up stepped Team Liquid.

The move comes just days after another wave of top-tier talent flocked to VALORANT in search of redemption in the new game. Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund and Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel recently made the switch, and after being let go from Astralis a matter of months ago, JUGi looks to have followed suit.

As for Team Liquid, maybe the most surprising aspect of the reports are that he may come in to replace ec1s, who is captain of the side. Having failed to make a big impact in their opening few tournaments after being picked up by Team Liquid, a change was inevitable. The former Fish123 roster that was so dominant (with the change of Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom who replaced Ardis "ardiis" Svarenieks) has a predominantly British core that moved over from CS:GO, akin to JUGi.

There is no denying that JUGi is a talented FPS shooter, Can he cut the mustard in VALORANT? Only time will tell.
