Job Listing Fuels Rumours Of 2021 Pokemon Game

With 2020 over, we can now look forward to a (hopefully) much brighter 2021. We don’t want to get our hopes up too much but really, can anything be worse than this year? Apart from an alien invasion or the Earth getting blown to pieces by a comet, it’s pretty much safe to say the only way is up.

Something else that looks to be encouraging for the upcoming year is a set of job listings that have sparked rumours of a brand-new Pokémon game, that could be coming in 2021.

There’s a few parts to this theory, so let’s break it down.

First of all, the job listings for The Pokémon Company were specifically for short-term contracts (just 12 months). Secondly, the jobs were for localisation from Japanese to English, reports Dexerto.

The interesting thing about this point is that once a game is at the translation stage, it’s pretty much ready. Adding to the fact that these jobs have been advertised for short-term contracts only adds fuel to the flames.

Another thing to consider is the fact that Pokémon celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2021. So a new game would make sense to tie in with this milestone.

However, we shouldn’t all start smashing open our piggy banks just yet, as Twitter user PokeKalos (who has leaked Nintendo Direct info before, that turned out to be correct) claimed that it was simply a remake, due for release in 2021. A translated version of the Tweet read: “You’re going to have your remake next November, stop complaining”.

Unfortunately, with no movement from The Pokémon Company in terms of telling us anyone new information, or even denying the rumours, we’ll just have to wait until 2021 to find out what’s actually going on. Either way, the year is looking bright.
