Apex Legends Season 8 brought with it a map rotation system, allowing players to battle on either Kings Canyon or Olympus - leaving World's Edge out of contention.

World's Edge was the second map to be released for the battle royale and was introduced in Season 3, much to the delight of fans who were growing bored of the only map at the time - Kings Canyon.

Removed from the map rotation in February 2021, World's Edge has been sorely missed on the battlefield of Apex, and many wonder - is World's Edge coming back to Apex Legends?

When will World’s Edge come back to Apex Legends?

In February 2021, Respawn Entertainment revealed in their patch notes that “World’s Edge [was] taking a break from ranked play but will return in a later season.”

The likelihood is that World's Edge will return in Season 9 (currently rumoured to be landing around May 4), but no information has been confirmed.

A new map is also probably off the cards too, as Olympus was only just introduced in Season 7: Ascension, along with the new Legend Horizon. What could be a possibility is a revamped World's Edge, with new POIs and biomes to third party in.

With hope springing eternal that World's Edge will be reworked and reintroduced in Season 9 of Apex Legends, waiting it out for an announcement from Respawn is the only option as of right now.

We can't wait to dive back into the lava-infested map, and battle it out in Harvester, Train Yard, Skyhook, and more.
