It seems that FromSoftware is keen not to box itself into any kind of genre boundaries - even though the team is known for creating its own genre with Soulsbournes.

The Soulsborne genre is all thanks to the company, creating the likes of Dark Souls and Elden Ring, while forging its own aesthetics and styles.

FromSoft has climbed to the top of the industry, and with President Hidetaka Miyazaki appearing in this year's TIME 100 most influential people list, it's clear that they're truly a force to be reckoned with.

This is being used to bolster the next game, which is the latest Armored Core. The title has been kept quiet for too long - but no longer. The Armored Core VI release date has finally been revealed, and it's not all that far away.

Armored Core reveals new gameplay trailer

Thankfully, the secrecy on the new mech-heavy FromSoftware game has been lifted, as we finally have an Armored Core VI gameplay trailer.  As expected, it's a pretty action-packed title, and with FromSoftware at the helm, we're hoping that it will keep long-time fans of the franchise happy.

Producer Yasunori Ogura told Eurogamer, "As well as using our experience from recent years and combining this with the core elements of what we believe makes Armored Core special, this is still a brand new game and we want it to feel like a new mech action game that fits within the current climate of games."

It has been revealed that Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon will release on August 25, 2023. FromSoftware has also confirmed the mech madness will be coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

This is a pretty huge deal, not just for Armored Core fans, but fans of video games at large. FromSoftware is back, and though it was only last year it produced its most definitive title with Elden Ring, Miyazaki and co. haven't returned a moment too soon.
