Fortnite released, what will perhaps be, its last update before Season 2 of the new chapter. The update, like its predecessors, lacked huge content and excitement and was mainly centred on the implementation of the Unreal Engine’s new Chaos Physics System, however, with this update Launch Pads returned from the vault.

But later that day, Epic Games announced the Love and War event, targeted at the upcoming Valentine’s Day on 14th February. This event will run from the 5th of February until the 17th of February, featuring challenges for players to complete in order to win some exclusive in-game cosmetics which include a pickaxe, a wrap, back bling and an emote. Players will have to participate in the LTM added to the playlist as these challenges can only be completed within that specific Limited Time Mode. There are a total of 12 objectives, each is in some way or the other linked to the new LTM.

This LTM is community-made and is an adaptation of the famous game mode: Seek and Destroy. There are two teams, of six players each. The teams will be playing Defender or Attacker in around. If the team is attacking, it has to detonate the bomb, while the defending team has to protect the bomb site, but if a team loses all its members the opponent will be victorious. A maximum of seven rounds can ensue. Although all players start off with a pistol, they can upgrade their weapons or buy materials with Gold, which can be acquired by killing enemies, planting or defusing objectives or even completing a single round. The attacker’s job is to plant the bomb at the designated site and blow it up while the defenders try to prevent this from happening. Players can enjoy this experience on two maps: Cove and Factory.

In order to dominate your opposition, you must be knowledgeable with all the tricks of the maps, so that you can sustain the upper hand throughout the match, and it is important that you spend your gold affectively.

As a part of this event, a number of themed-cosmetics will rotate in the item-shop.
