It's been too long without Batman in gaming. Say what you want about the overindulgence in Bat-themed vigilantes in the movies, but the scowl under the cowl has usually turned out bangers in gaming.

From his LEGO appearances to the Arkham games - but it's the latter really left an impact. Even though Arkham Knight wasn't all that its predecessors were, fans still remember the incredible time that players had gliding across Arkham.

And now, Batfans want more. Well, they want more of what they've already got. 14 years after we opened the doors to Batman: Arkham Asylum, isn't it about time we head back?

Fans Demand Batman: Arkham Asylum Remake

Gamers (as ever) have been discussing what games need a remake, especially in the wake of the fan love of Dead Space's return to form - and the discussion has turned to the Bat.

"My personal suggestion is Batman: Arkham Asylum," says Reddit user AlmostColossus in a new post to the PS5 subreddit. "It's from a similar timeframe as Dead Space and has so much room for QOL improvements to bring the game forward into the new generation. It’s a shame we got that lacklustre Return To Arkham collection."

Another gushed, "I'm with you. I've been wanting an Arkham remake or remaster. I want the whole series though. Not just Asylum. Some of my favorite games. They're very well done. Asylum is my favorite though."

A third concluded, "The original Dead Space is only a year older than Arkham Asylum. Dead Space itself wasn't in dire need of a remake either, but the remake was still fantastic. An Asylum remake on modern hardware with modern assets, shaders, lighting, etc could be just as fantastic!"

Remakes are making a comeback in 2023, especially with Resident Evil 4 coming very soon - and it looks like a lot of players agree with the OP that the Arkham series could do with a remake. But it's not just Batman they want back.

Fans Discuss The Games That Need Remakes

The comments of the post have gone on to list the games that players would like to see make a comeback, and while there are some that simply want a Dead Space 2 remake now that they've had the chance to see the first game again, others are coming through with some inspired choices.

The likes of F.E.A.R, Legacy of Kain, Dante's Inferno, and Soul Reaver are among the most popular demands, and as players are also clamouring for the rumoured Metal Gear Solid remake, it's clear that gamers are still clinging to the past.

We can barely blame them, as there are so many games we remember so fondly that we want back on modern hardware. We're looking at you, Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue.
