Respawn and EA 'Working On Apex Legends Mobile Esports'
Apex Legends has had a huge boost in popularity recently, as the past couple of updates have brought enough exciting content to spice up the battle royale title’s experience and catch the eye of new players everywhere. Its introduction of new legends, locations and modes have been essential to the game’s growth, but its appearance on new platforms have helped more players pick up the game for the first time.
The game made its first appearance on Nintendo Switch recently, and it’s now finally made the bounce to mobile like many other battle royale games. And as the game’s professional scene grows with the title itself, EA and Respawn Entertainment are now reportedly looking to inject some competitive play into the game’s mobile ports.

Apex Legends Mobile's New Competitive Push
It looks like EA and Respawn want much more for the competitive scene on Apex Legends Mobile, as they’re working on putting together some esports affiliation with the game.
In an interview with The Esports Observer, the SVP and general manager of competitive gaming at EA, Todd Sitrin, says “Our organization is a big believer in mobile esports. We’ve been waiting for the right property and the right community that wants to embrace it. We think there are two big opportunities: one is around Apex Mobile and the other is around FIFA Mobile.” It’s very clear that EA is looking to enhance the competitive side of Apex Legends on mobile devices now, and he says himself he isn’t confirming anything here - but they’re working closely with Respawn to develop something.
It’s an exciting suggestion for mobile players, offering them the chance to contend with the big leagues of competitive play. Mobile esports are on the rise, and it looks like EA’s titles could be the next on the list of the biggest and best for pro mobile players.
