EA has scored quite the own goal this week, as they are set to dish out millions of coins in compensation to users in FC 24 Ultimate Team, which is the biggest oopsie they've ever made.

The Ultimate Team grind in EA FC 24 has been pretty rough going up until this week, with promo cards being neigh-on impossible to pack and coins being few and far between.

But if you've been lucky enough to find yourself in this unfortunate circumstance during the Thunderstruck promo, you might be entitled to nearly six million coins.

EA FC 24's Thunderstruck Promo has been one of the best events that we've ever seen at this stage of the yearly cycle, balancing the meta between good-but-not-overpowered cards with a hefty number of special players that allows for fun team diversity.

But as part of the promo, EA released some players without the correct stats. First, Umititi was rolled out with an 85 overall instead of 86, and the Johan Cruyff Icon card was given the wrong playstyle (Tiki Taka+ instead of Power Shot+).

So, in usual EA fashion, compensation is now afoot, and for anyone who netted Cruyff, you're in for a treat.

EA FC to refund 5-6 million coins to Thunderstruck Cruyff owners

Taking to social media, EA confirmed that any player who purchased Thunderstruck Johan Cruyff from the transfer market while he was still showing the Tiki Taka+ Playstyle will be allowed to keep the card and will also be given back their coins.

Within the first hour of release, according to FUTBIN, Cruyff was found on the transfer market at any price between 4.5 million and 6.5 million coins, meaning there will be some massive pay-outs from EA to players who have still managed to get a 94-rated Cruyff.

Now that's what you call a Black Friday bargain.
