CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone plenty of change recently, let alone since launch. The sci-fi shooter was once the story of a failure so catastrophic, Sony had to step in to peel the game from their online store.

If you now ask any Cyberpunk fan, they'll tell you that the neo-futuristic RPG is among the best of all time. The turn-around has been like that of No Man's Sky, transforming a broken disappointment into a marker of just how vast games can become with some love and attention.

That doesn't mean that Cyberpunk 2077 isn't free of a wish list, though - and fans know exactly what they want the first new addition to the game to be.

Cyberpunk fans are still calling for a third-person mode

As will come as no surprise to anyone who has played Cyberpunk 2077, the strong first-person perspective has done wonders for the immersion of Night City, but that doesn't mean that players aren't hoping they can eventually see the game from over the shoulder.

A new Reddit post has caused plenty of buzz, suggesting that players' "only wish" for the title is a Cyberpunk 2077 third-person mode that allows players to see the game from over their character's shoulder - and it seems that commenters agree.

"That's why I only ride motorcycles in this game so I can see my character," says one user. "See what I liked about Fallout 4 is that whenever you spoke it showed your character," adds another. "I know people hated the voiced character but I loved seeing my own armour."

It's a shame that there's no vanilla option for the mode - but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

There are huge amounts of third-person mods for Cyberpunk

You're in luck if you're playing Cyberpunk on PC, because all it takes is a simple scan of Nexus Mods to see that there are plenty of third-person mods out there to help you take your game to the next level. With legions of you being drawn back into the game thanks to the Phantom Liberty DLC, there's no better time.

While Cyberpunk's first-person perspective allows us to get up close and personal with the residents of Night City, it's disappointing there still isn't a third-person option. If you're desperate to escape the clutches of Cyberpunk's first-person view, your opportunity is there - you're just going to have to go looking for it.
