Gaming peripherals are a bit of a nightmare to navigate. There is little players can do to figure out what it is they want with their setups without checking in with review after review.

As companies churn out item after item, it naturally gets a lot tougher to lock down exactly what mouse, keyboard, desk, and chair a person needs to perfect a PC gaming build.

There are cheap options that players can pick up in the meantime to tide them over and lower them into the world in a simpler way, even if they have to skimp on quality. Thankfully, it seems this is a problem that Corsair has just fixed - offering a high-end keyboard without the high-end price tag.

A new keyboard just touched down in the gaming space, and it uses some pretty simple cost-cutting tactics to make it one of the easiest keyboards to pick up if you’re in between setups or looking for something new.

The Corsair K55 Core RGB maintains a complex RGB system, media controls and a spillproof surface, all while coasting under the mark of $40. It's pretty unseen in the industry for a gaming keyboard to cost so little, but the company does so with a pretty smart change.

Typically, gaming keyboards will prioritise mechanical key switches for each key available, and while it provides a satisfying click and helps with more accurate inputs, it's not entirely essential.

Corsair has opted to go back to basics with a standard membrane to cover the whole keyboard, reducing the build cost of the K55 and passing the savings on to you.

It's a pretty impressive option for PC gamers, especially if you're trying to upgrade your gaming without breaking the bank. Plus, your squad is definitely going to thank you for opting for a quieter keyboard.

The Corsair K55 Core is available now for just $39.95 and can be picked up in either grey or black. Trust us, you won't regret this one.
