In recent Call of Duty news, an interview with GamerGen, Warzone and Modern Warfare developer, Infinity Ward, has confirmed that Warzone will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X once the new consoles are released in late 2020.

Taylor Kurosaki, Infinity Ward Narrative Director, stated that the studio will update Warzone so it supports PS5 and Xbox Series X, so if you were thinking about buying a new console but were deterred due to the lack of Warzone, you now have nothing to worry about!

I know that our plan is Warzone is going to be around for quite some time, so as soon as those new systems are out and available I’m sure we’ll support them.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X are both slated for a Holiday 2020 release, with both Sony and Microsoft insistent that both will be available despite the current global situation.

The news that Warzone will be available on next-gen consoles is great news, especially for players that may not be able to afford to buy a new console on release. The addition of cross-platform play introduced to Call of Duty in 2019 with the release of Modern Warfare will enable players to enjoy Warzone regardless of platform.

With both PS5 and Xbox Series X bolstering some impressive specifications, Warzone will look better than ever in 4K resolution and a variety of tech to drastically reduce loading times, allowing players to drop into Verdansk quicker than ever before.
