Apex Legends Mobile Finally Gets A Release Date
Apex Legends Mobile has been a long time coming. If there's one thing that the battle royale genre has learned, it's that if it can make up success on console, it can sure as hell make it in the mobile market. Fortnite was the first to leap (though its lawsuit with Apple didn't quite help their numbers) and PUBG followed suit with an immensely popular mobile counterpart that totally dominated the market.
Now, Apex Legends is expected to take the plunge. The mobile version of the game seems to have been in the works for a long time, and after multiple betas and a slow global rollout, we've finally got an official Apex Legends Mobile release date for the wider world.
Apex Legends Mobile Reveals Release Date
Update: Apex Legends Mobile was released on May 17, 2022.
Finally, we know when the mobile version of Apex Legends will be coming to our shores. The option for players to sign up for a pre-register system has finally arrived and was shared by the official Apex Legends Mobile Twitter account.
The video reveal indicates that the title is coming to mobile later this month, after the initial expectation that it would be launching in the summer. This release is much sooner than we anticipated, but it's great news for Apex Legends fans. Either way, in a year that's crammed with AAA releases like Elden Ring and Hogwarts Legacy, this mobile titan has the potential to win big.
What's New In Apex Legends Mobile?
Much like similar mobile versions of battle royale games, Apex Legends Mobile has made a lot of changes to its formula. The game offers a third-person view, which was a feature absent from the actual full game. Although the core of the Titanfall spin-off will be there, there's a lot else that will have you grabbing your phones and jumping off the dropship.
You can also expect a lot of changes to the game's mechanics, while a whole slew of cosmetics exclusive to the mobile edition will have you parting with your money. All of this comes only from the pre-release footage, so more could yet be on the way. Don't forget, you'll also be insulted for being bad at the game.
It's an exciting time to be an Apex Legends fan with a new season on the horizon and an entirely new game built from the ground up for mobile. Now all the game has to be is good. So no pressure.
