That doesn't look right. With Season 6, the AS VAL was introduced and gets unlocked once you reach Tier 31 of the Battle Pass. Now players have found an interaction that doesn't look as if it was intended. Streamer Dmitry "Recrent" Osintsev showed off the power of the new weapon when paired with the Snapshot Grenade. Revealing opponents that get hit by the tactical device, players have been able to see opponents through walls when hit. Now with the AS VAL and its likely broken wall penetration, they can make quick work of their opponent too, turning it into the ultimate camping counter.

It's unlikely that the weapon is working as intended as the wall penetration effect allegedly only unlocks with the 10 RD Mag. Moreover, the perk Full Metal Jacket, that is supposed to increase the effect of bullet penetration, actually lowers the damage amount, strongly suggesting that some numbers are off in the formula of calculating the damage the gun should be doing through walls.

So far it's not known if a change or hotfix will be coming to the AS VAL. You can check out our guide for more legitimate loadouts for the new assault weapon here
