Sonic Superstars release date, gameplay, trailers & more
Sonic is returning to his 2D platforming roots in Sonic Superstars, a new title heading to gaming platforms very soon.

Sonic Superstars: Release date
Click to enlargeSonic Superstars' official release date is October 17, 2023. Sonic fans don't have much longer to wait before the game will be in their hands.
Interestingly, that's just a few days before Super Mario Bros. Wonder comes out, which might spell bad news for SEGA's sales. Hopefully Sonic will be able to hold his own against the Nintendo icon!
Sonic Superstars: Gameplay details
Click to enlargeSonic Superstars returns the famous blue echidna to the 2D realm, with more zones to explore and a lovely new coat of shiny paint. The game's visual style is quite a bit different to Sonic's last 2D outing - the retro throwback Sonic Mania - but it looks pretty nice all the same.
As always, you've gotta go fast through the level, collecting as many rings as you can and eventually reach the finish line. You'll also get new Emerald powers that let you attack in "dynamic new ways".
One big feature of Sonic Superstars is that you can team up with your friends, tackling the levels together while playing as some famous characters from the Sonic series like Tails, Knuckles and Amy Rose.

Are there any Sonic Superstars trailers?
You can view the Announcement Trailer for Sonic Superstars above, which was shown at Summer Game Fest in 2023. This trailer reveals the stunning new graphics for the game, which might be the best a modern Sonic game has ever had.
