Once you reach the Starseed at the climax of the game, Echo will try to convince you to spare yourself the agony of repeating the failures of the past, and destroy the weapon. But, ultimately, the choice will fall to you.

You will be prompted to press and hold one of two buttons - one to destroy the Starseed, and one to activate it. It's this action that will determine your ending, so make the right choice.

In the first ending, You'll activate the Starseed in a bid to save your planet despite Echo's attempt to stop you. Echo will fade away, and Rei will twist and contort into another Remnant.

Rei will be reborn at the very start of the game, with your armour broken, and no memory of what's happened. You'll head back to the Starseed and the game will end, ready for you to respawn with Cyd with a fully charged Starseed. Time to try again!

This is Solar Ash's "true" ending.

By destroying the Starseed, Echo will be shocked by your actions. Rei will still suffer in the process, becoming a twisted Remnant - but you'll then assume the role of Echo, free of her prison and in a new spiritual form.

You'll engage in a massive boss battle with "Wretched Rei", freeing her by forcing the debris out of her body and kicking a pin through her chest. The ending will see you lament on the possibility found in the world as it stands, with optimism that something new can be built from the rubble, and the credits will roll.

That's everything you need to know about Solar Ash's ending - we hope you'll make the right choice. Make sure you read our guide on the Solar Ash suits if you're yet to collect them all.
