Pokemon Go Goomy Hat: How To Unlock The Goomy Hat Cosmetic
The Pokemon GO Goomy Hat is another example that the game isn't all catching beasties and raiding gyms. The Pokemon game has a wealth of cosmetics to keep you looking fresh in-game, and as the Season of Heritage event has finally arrived, it's time for you to earn a limited item that could end up becoming quite rare in the future. But how exactly do you unlock the Goomy Hat? Here's our guide to acquiring your new drip in Pokemon GO.
Pokemon GO Goomy Hat: How To Unlock The Goomy Hat
The Goomy Hat, which as we're sure you can imagine, is a bucket hat fashioned after the Dragon-type Pokemon that looks like a gelatinous blob. It's actually pretty simple to unlock, but that doesn't mean it's going to be easy.
The Season of Heritage comes packed with a lot of goodies, and they're all unlocked in a similar way - with certain amounts of XP earned in-game comes extra goodies and items, like Poke Balls, Razz Berries and even free Pokemon. But, included in the wealth of goodies is of course, the Goomy hat.

The only caveat is that to access the Season of Heritage challenges, you need to pre-purchase a ticket to the Pokemon Go Tour: Johto event. This will set you back £9.99/$11.99 but grants you access to this Season of Heritage event, plus another February timed research set, and the Johto Tour event at the end of February.
In order to unlock the Goomy hat, you're going to have to earn 240,000 XP over the course of January. Plus, with the event ending on the 31st, you don't have long to make up the huge sum of XP. Hurry along and get catching, otherwise the hat could be gone forever.
Though it might take some time, it'll be worth bagging the hat whichever way works best for you - we recommend adding friends, hatching eggs, visiting PokeStops and completing raids to boost your XP to make sure you can get the hat before it's gone forever.
That's our guide to bagging the weird hat - get to work, and it'll be yours in no time. Not sure how raids work? Check out our guide to all Pokemon Go raids here.
