Season 7 of Overwatch 2 is fast approaching, so we’re going to break down everything you need to know about it, from the release date to its Diablo crossovers and more.

Coinciding with the first anniversary of the game, Season 7 of Overwatch 2 promises new cosmetics and maps, revolving around an all-new theme.

When is Overwatch 2 Season 7 released?

Season 7 of Overwatch 2 will be released on October 10, 2023.

This latest season coincides with the first anniversary of the game, with official announcements for what to expect in the season ahead taking place on October 4, 2023, exactly a year since Overwatch 2 was released.

Season 7 of Overwatch 2 has been titled “Rise of Darkness” and looks perfectly poised to see eager players through the spooky season and Halloween celebrations.

Every season of Overwatch 2 revolves around a particular theme. Previous seasons’ themes have included Fantasy, Space Opera and Season 6’s Invasion theme with the introduction of PvE content.

Overwatch 2 Season 7 trailers

Season 7 of Overwatch 2 received its first teaser on October 2, 2023, showing hits of what’s to come in the season ahead.

A main trailer will be released on October 4, 2023, which will go into more detail about what we can expect to see from Season 7.

While we are yet to see this Season’s cosmetics fully, one skin that has been teased for Overwatch 2 Season 7 is a Diablo IV Lilith skin for Moira.

With Diablo IV being a serious Game of the Year contender and one of Blizzard’s biggest properties, it's only fitting that it should make its way into Overwatch, alongside a makeover for the Blizzard World map.

Alongside all the spooky content with the Rise of Darkness theme, Overwatch 2 is receiving a new control map: Samoa.

Following in the footsteps of Illios, Oasis and more, Samoa will have heroes battling it out for control of the map and includes a bustling city and a dormant volcano among its control points.
