Spider-Man 2 adds New Game Plus & new suits in version 1.002 patch notes
A wave of fresh content is about to swing into Marvel's Spider-Man 2, with New Game Plus and some exciting suits set to be added with the upcoming version 1.002 patch.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has been out for a few months now, which means most fans will have had time to see everything the game has to offer. That's all about to change, though, as loads of additional features are set to arrive with the next big update.
When is Spider-Man 2's 1.002 update released?
Web-slingers can look forward to the 1.002 patch dropping worldwide on March 7, 2024.
This was confirmed in an official PlayStation blog post from Insomniac Games' Community Director James Stevenson, who thanked fans for their support and promised that this patch will be a "major title update" for the game.
What to expect from Spider-Man 2 version 1.002
Here's everything you can look forward to when the update drops:
New Game Plus mode
Whether you've completed Spider-Man 2 once or several times, there's about to be another reason to dive back into the suits of Miles Morales and Peter Parker as New Game Plus is finally being added to the game.
With this mode, you'll be able to replay the story mode on a harder difficulty with all of your suits and abilities carrying over. There will also be Ultimate Levels, Golden Gadget styles, and more to enjoy.
Fly 'N Fresh suits
A Fly N' Fresh Suit Pack will be added to the game alongside the version 1.002 update. It will feature the Fly Suit for Peter and the Fresh Suit for Miles, as well as 10 Photo Mode Stickers and 2 Photo Mode Frames.
You'll be able to get early access to these suits from March 7 to April 5, 2024, by purchasing the Fly N' Fresh Suit Pack for $4.99 in the game. All proceeds will go to Gameheads (up to $1 million), a group that "empowers low-income youth and youth of colour to thrive in the video games industry".
After this exclusivity period is over, these suits will be available for all players to get for free.

As well as the Fly N' Fresh Suits, Marvel’s Hellfire Gala Suits will be available for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales at no extra cost. Peter will have a Russell Dauterman design, while Miles will get his look from Bernard Chang’s Hellfire Gala variant cover for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #8.
There will also be new Suit Styles for several of Peter’s Symbiote Store Suits in the game, which can be unlocked by playing New Game Plus' Ultimate Levels.
Photo Mode updates
Budding photographers rejoice, as Spider-Man 2's Photo Mode is about to get even better. This update will add action figure mode and stickers, as well as the ability to change the time of day once you complete the story.
Accessibility improvements
The version 1.002 update will add Audio Descriptions, Screen Reader, and High Contrast Outlines to the game to improve accessibility. You can read more about the planned changes here.
Insomniac said it was "thankful to the community for giving us a little extra time to ensure they were polished and ready to be released".
