Lords of the Fallen is nearly here and the Soulsike game has plenty of fresh ideas for the genre after the series has been rebooted. There has only been one entry in the series so far, but after changing developers, the new game is set to reset and take the game in a new direction.

Recently, we got our most detailed look yet at the gameplay in the game as well as an insight into what we can expect from the game's bosses. Read on below for this and everything else we know about Lords of the Fallen so far.

Is there a Lords of the Fallen release date?

The great news for Lords of the Fallen fans is that you won’t have to wait long for the release, as we are expecting it to arrive on October 13, 2023.

What do we know about Lords of the Fallen gameplay?

Lords of the Fallen's gameplay reveal showcased that it looks set to be incredibly atmospheric, with players exploring the world fighting a variety of different enemies and bosses. The weapons are huge, the magic is over the top and the monsters look grim, with players no doubt finding themselves dying over and over, testing both patience and resolve.

One of the most unique features in the reboot of Lords of the Fallen is the twin worlds you can explore: Axiom is the realm of the living and Umbral is the realm of the dead. You will have to bounce between the two worlds, as areas that you can’t access in one world will be accessible in the other.

In theory, if this works, it will make traversing the world a puzzle within itself alongside the enemies you will have to face. You will also be transported to the world of the dead when you die in the game, further expanding on death as a mechanic in souls-likes. This time around, alongside the character creator, there will be nine different classes for players to choose from when beginning the game.

Will Lords of the Fallen have multiplayer?

Lords of the Fallen will support a multiplayer function, so you can play through the game with a friend to explore together, and there will also be PvP in the game too.

This is likely great news for many, as one of the best things about any challenging game is that sense of relief when you finally beat the boss you’ve been stuck on for hours - and that feeling is even better when you get to share that relief with a pal.

Lords of the Fallen trailers

So far, we have seen three main trailers for the game, especially as we near the release later this year. The first trailer we saw for the game was when it was revealed at Gamescom 2022 as can be seen above.

We also got a good look at how the two worlds in the game will interact, and how you as a player will have to work your way through these worlds to overcome any challenges that are thrown your way.

Then, we got a look at Lords of the Fallen with nearly 20 minutes of gameplay showing off how the dual worlds will work - as well as a glimpse of a boss fight.

As we have come to expect from the genre, the boss looked challenging with multiple phases. The way the dual worlds interacted with the fight could offer a fresh take on the genre.

Lastly, our most recent look was at Gamescom Opening Night Live, with a short gameplay trailer showing off more of what we can expect from the game.

That is everything we know so far about Lords of the Fallen, which is set to release later this year. For more gaming news and guides, be sure to keep reading GGrecon.
