Lords of the Fallen is here, and many fans will likely be wondering if the game features an easy mode, or any difficulty settings at all for that matter.

The Soulslike genre has quickly become one of the most popular in the last ten years or so, and its popularity in the mainstream only continues to grow - but it tends to have one major criticism aimed towards it, and that’s the lack of difficulty options available.

So if you're keen to dive into Lords of the Fallen, below we'll take a look into whether or not it'll follow suit and shun difficulty options, or if this reboot will buck the trend and allow the game to be played on easy mode.

Will Lords of the Fallen have an easy mode?

In what may not be much of a surprise to veterans of Soulslike titles, Lords of the Fallen doesn't have an easy mode when it launches this year.

This means that those who may prefer more of a narrative experience (like the easier difficulties found in Baldur's Gate 3, for example) may feel a little bit out of sorts from the outset.

Okay, so we know there's not going to be an easy mode in Lords of the Fallen, but Lords of the Fallen doesn't feature any difficulty settings at all, continuing the trend of the brutally challenging genre.

The same debate is often sparked when new Soulslike games are released, including recently with Lies of P, and famously so with last year's Elden Ring. For now, you'll just have to pull up your sleeves and gear up for plenty of potential in-game restarts when taking on its enemies.

So, that's all you need to know about whether or not Lords of the Fallen will feature an easy mode or other difficulty settings. If you're already working your way through the game but can't figure out what to do with the Fief key we have you covered. For more guides, check out our Lords of the Fallen homepage
