Does Kerbal Space Program 2 have multiplayer? Kerbal Space Program 2 is the long-awaited and largely unexpected sequel to a modern PC classic. Multiplayer was not a feature of the first game, which was more of a simplified experience than the sequel aims to be. So we are here to answer the question, does Kerbal Space Program 2 have multiplayer?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. However, that is because KSP2 is in early access, and has only recently launched as such. The early access launch was in February 2023, so it is still very early days for the game.

Fans might remember that the original Kerbal Space Program was one of the first examples of an early access game, one which iterated on itself greatly over time.

While Kerbal Space Program 2 is currently available on Steam and on the Epic Game Store, the current version is not the finished product. The developers have stated that they see early access as a foundation on which they can build. This will include many new features as time goes on.

Will Kerbal Space Program 2 have multiplayer in the future?

According to developer Intercept Games, multiplayer is very much a planned feature for the future of KSP2. Of the new features they plan on implementing, interstellar travel, building colonies, and adding multiplayer are three of the most prominently mentioned in their updates.

While specifics are yet to be confirmed, creative director Nate Simpson, in an interview with PC Gamer said "It’s KSP2…but with more chaos, competition, or cooperation -- depending on your friends. Players should expect some hilarious and exciting moments as KSP2 will allow you to tackle challenges against or with other players."

Multiplayer is said to have players join or establish space agencies, and either work together or against each other. The launch site has been designed with four rocket sites and two runways, to allow for simultaneous launches and likely much chaos.

That is everything we know about Kerbal Space Program 2 multiplayer so far. For more on the game, stick with us at GGRecon.
