Fans of climbing and video games will likely be right at home in Jusant, the next title from Don't Nod - so here's everything we know about the release date, trailers, gameplay, and platform details so far.

Jusant was one of the more interesting reveals from the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, especially coming from a developer known for its narrative-focused games like Life Is Strange. From what we know so far, it's an action-puzzle climbing game where you scale cliffs, ruins, and magical mushrooms, with the goal of reaching the top in one piece.

So, here's our breakdown of the Jusant release date, trailers, gameplay details, and platforms, so you're up-to-date and in the know.

Is there a Jusant release date?

Yes, Jusant is confirmed to be released on October 31, 2023, in a trailer shared during Gamescom. This comes following the initial reveal, which placed it for a Fall 2023 launch, meaning it looks to be right on schedule.

Are there any Jusant trailers?

Jusant's first trailer was the reveal trailer, which debuted during the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase.

The trailer featured a mix of in-engine footage and gameplay, primarily showing the protagonist of the game climbing up massive walls across a variety of biomes, with the aim of reaching a tower shown at the top.

The next trailer revealed for Jusant was a gameplay trailer, shown at Gamescom 2023, which highlighted more of the climbing mechanics and gameplay, along with the different environments available in the game.

Ropes were emphasised more this time, with the protagonist using one to swing across to a windmill, and also give themself momentum to run up a wall and reach a higher hold in the wall.

What we do know about Jusant gameplay?

Jusant is described as an action-puzzle climbing game, where gameplay is focused around (you guessed it) climbing.

The ultimate goal of the climb is to reach a tower situated at the top of the massive cliff face, while also uncovering information about a long-lost civilisation surrounding you on your journey.

The mechanics of climbing feature various climbing tools and a stamina metre that you'll need to watch carefully as you navigate the various routes. There are also elements of non-linear exploration with alternative paths on your journey, and the choice of how to best utilise your tools is largely up to you.

Another key mechanic involves your companion, a mysterious creature called Ballast. They will be able to help you out by revealing clues about the tower's past and the ruins of the civilisation, so you can learn more throughout your adventure.

Ballast is also in tune with nature, allowing them to wake up plant life to help you. This is highlighted in the trailer, when you hold onto a mushroom as it grows rapidly along the cliff face, allowing you to climb even higher.

What platforms will Jusant be available on?

While revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase, Jusant won't be an Xbox exclusive, as the game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on the Steam storefront.

Jusant was also confirmed to be on Xbox Game Pass day one, meaning that console, PC, and cloud players can dive in right from the get-go.
