If you've been watching the TV show, you may be wondering if you can play The Last of Us on your Xbox. The Last of Us has become one of the biggest franchises in gaming since the launch of the first title back in 2013. Since then, we've seen a sequel, an announcement for two more games in the universe, and a critically acclaimed HBO show.

With The Last of Us reaching new heights of popularity thanks to the TV show, many people may want to try out the games for the first time. So, if you want to find out if The Last of Us is on Xbox, we've got you covered.

The Last of Us and its sequel are not available to play on Xbox, as they are first-party titles for PlayStation platforms. As of right now - including the remaster and Part 1 remake versions, The Last of Us is available on PS3, PS4, and PS5.

They were developed by Naughty Dog, a game development company that's been owned by Sony since 2001, when it was busy making the Crash Bandicoot series. Sony has a strict exclusivity policy for its first-party titles, meaning it's extremely unlikely that they'll ever be available to play on an Xbox console.

However, that doesn't mean that a PlayStation is the only way to play the series. The Last of Us Part I is coming to Steam on Tuesday, 28 March 2023 - marking the first time that the series will be playable outside of the PlayStation ecosystem.

Sony has started to release more of their exclusives to Steam over the past few years, so if TLOU Part I is successful, it's very likely that the sequel will be released on PC too.

It's also worth noting that despite the exclusivity of The Last of Us, you can still watch The Last of Us HBO series on Xbox by using the HBO app.

That's all for our answer to the question, is The Last of Us on Xbox? Now you know that the game is a PlayStation exclusive, but it will soon be available on PC.

For more on the game, we also cover all The Last of Us Part I actors, so you can see the face behind the voice. Better yet, find out how you can try The Last of Us Part 1 for free.
