If you’re thinking about hopping into the Burning Shores DLC for Horizon Forbidden West, then you may be wondering how long it is. Horizon Forbidden West is one of the biggest, most sprawling open-world RPGs on PS5 right now, so it makes sense that the Burning Shores DLC follows in its footsteps.

Thankfully we've done the hard work and figured out how long can you expect to spend fighting mechanical dinosaurs as Aloy in the Buring Shores DLC - letting you plan your time accordingly.

How long would it take to beat the Burning Shores DLC?

If you’re just looking to complete the main story of the Burning Shores DLC, then you can expect to be playing for between eight and 10 hours in total. This will see you continue Aloy’s story from the climactic ending of the original game, tying up any loose ends and setting up a potential sequel.

However, if you’re the sort of person who likes to explore every nook and cranny, then you can easily eke out around 15-20 hours of game time. The area of LA is added to this new content pack, so there’s a whole new piece of the world to explore.

While the size of the world in Burning Shores doesn’t quite match up to the size of the original game, the DLC still offers a hefty chunk of landmass to uncover. Fans of the series certainly won't be disappointed by the amount of content on offer here, with side quests and collectables galore.

In contrast, the original game took around 30 hours to complete the main story, with a completionist run taking upwards of 85 hours. If you’re starting out from scratch and want to complete Burning Shores straight after the main game, Horizon Forbidden West can now officially be classified as over a hundred-hour RPG.
