Does Hogwarts Legacy Have New Game Plus?
New game plus is a common enough feature in next-gen gaming, meaning Hogwarts Legacy players may expect the same from the sprawling wizarding RPG. New game plus is a great way to replay a game on advanced levels with access to all your higher-level gear and more challenging enemies. Unfortunately, there is no word from Avalanche Software at the time of writing that there will be a new game plus mode in Hogwarts Legacy. Check back here for updates if this changes in the future.
This is especially disappointing as many areas of Hogwarts are locked until you learn certain spells. To be able to travel through the gates of Hogwarts fully armed with an arsenal of spells right from the get-go could be a real game changer. It would also completely change the dynamic of the game if you had access to the unforgivable curses straight away as currently, you can only acquire the curses towards the end of the game and Sebastian's questline.
There is also the matter that many players will want to replay the game to experience the different Hogwarts houses. There do not seem to be any major changes to the story depending on which house you pick, you do however, miss out on seeing the other house common rooms and some NPC questlines do change depending on which house and person you speak to. The biggest example of which is that you can only visit Azkaban if you are placed within the Hufflepuff house currently.
For this reason, Hogwarts Legacy would greatly benefit from a new game plus mode. This would service game completionists and Harry Potter mega fans alike.
Avalanche Software may add a new game plus mode after its official launch on February 10. Stay tuned for any future updates regarding this.
