Hardspace Shipbreaker Hidden Data Drive Locations

So there are actually multiple Data Drives to find in Hardspace Shipbreaker, but only one of them is in a set location all the time. Data Drives are distinguished by their red or white casings, and they are usually found within the cockpit or crew’s quarters of a vessel. They can only be found inside ships that are grade five and above, meaning you'll have to play for a few hours before getting the chance to access these. 

However, there is one Hidden Data Drive that you can collect straight from the get-go, so you can earn yourself the achievement early. After coming out of the hub when starting a shift, turn around and activate the scanner. You should see a white box on the other side of the hub, and if you travel around there, you'll find a data drive on the back. Get close to interact with it and pick it up, and you will the achievement instantly. 

How To Use Hardspace Shipbreaker Hidden Data Drives

After collecting your first Hidden Data Drive, you will need to go back into the hub after your shift and wait until the next morning, where you'll receive a transmission from the character of Lou Steiner. She will send you some software for your computer which you can access to retrieve the data from the drive you found. 

Interacting with the computer will now show a third option called "Data Miner," and selecting it then pressing space to decrypt the drive will allow you to access the data. The data you can find will usually provide story exposition and lore snippets, found in the form of audio logs, text logs, images, or combinations of each. You will also gain 100 Lynx Tokens every time you recover the files from a drive.
