Just in time for the launch of the Fallout TV series, we've finally been given the news about a next-gen patch for Fallout 4 - and oh boy, does it come with some long-awaited update for PS5 and Xbox as well as PC.

Let's get into exactly when this Fallout 4 update is coming along with all of its contents.

Fallout 4 PS5 & Xbox Series X|S patch contents

On Thursday, 25 April, 2024, the next-gen patch for Fallout 4 will give the game the following updates on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as confirmed on the Bethesda news post:

  • Native applications for the game on each console
  • Performance mode & Quality mode settings
  • Stability improvements and fixes
  • Up to 60 FPS
  • Increased resolutions

Last-gen players won't be left empty-handed though, as PS4 and Xbox One players will get their own updates containing quest and login fixes alongside stability improvements.

Fallout 4 PC updates

From the same date of April 25 for console, Fallout 4 players on PC will also get treated to the following updates:

  • Widescreen & ultra-widescreen support
  • Fixes to Creation Kit
  • Quest updates
  • Fixes for stability, mods, and bugs
  • Login fixes for Japanese & Chinese language players

Steam Deck & Epic Games Store

In addition, not only is Fallout 4 going to be Steam Deck verified, but it's going to be at last available to buy at the Epic Games Store too - so even more players can learn how war never changes on April 25.

Extra quest, weapons, and armour content

There won't just be technical next-gen upgrades coming to Fallout 4 in the new patch, but a nice range of extra in-game content too; that most notably includes the introduction of The Enclave - the Pre-War paramilitary organisation who you need to stop in their own next quest: "Echoes of the Past".

What's more, the update will also add the following weapons and armour:

  • Enclave Weapon Skins
  • Enclave Armor Skins
  • Heavy Incinerator
  • Hellfire Power Armor
  • Tesla Cannon
  • X-02 Power Armor
  • Makeshift Weapon Pack
    • Including unconventional weapons like a nail gun, piggy bank, and baseball launcher

Finally, the patch will include the Halloween Workshop - said to be leftover from an ill-fated party of the New England Technocrat Society, including 38 Halloween decorations; ghouls, witches, cauldrons, ghouls etc; to add some spooky flair to your settlements.
