Out of all the announcements at the Xbox Games Showcase, Clockwork Revolution was a game that came out of nowhere, but it's certainly getting a lot of attention.

InXile entertainment's steampunk RPG came out of the gates with an incredible trailer that included time-travel, unbelievably exciting weapons, and an intriguing world to explore.

With obvious inspiration from the Bioshock franchise, this game has the potential to be hugely popular, especially if the story line is well-written.

Clockwork Revolution announced at Xbox Games Showcase

Announced at the Xbox Games Showcase, Clockwork Revolution is a first-person steampunk RPG set in the vibrant steam-powered metropolis of Avalon.

After discovering a device that helps you control time, you realise that the city you call home has carefully crafted through the alteration of historical events.

By time-traveling back to key moments, your interactions and choices will have a significant impact on the world and characters of Avalon, causing them to change and react in a variety of ways.

The trailer is narrated by the character Lady Ironwood, who appears to be the leader and creator of Avalon. It's likely she'll be one of the villains in the game as she threatens to destroy anyone who stands her way or the progress of Avalon.

While we're only given a sneak peak at what Clockwork Revolution has to offer in the trailer, it does show us a set of incredibly unique weapons. Not only that, it appears players will have access to a number of powerful time and gravity related abilities.

These all make it look like dispatching enemies will be extremely fun and if the game delivers an interesting storyline, it has the potential to be a huge hit.

In terms of a release date, the trailer simply revealed that it's 'coming in due time'. However, we do know it's coming to Xbox consoles, Game Pass and Steam.
