Warzone's introduction of Zombies has gone down with mixed emotions. The big ship that has docked and brought a horde of supernatural spectres with it has been a cover over some more obvious cracks in the game including prevalent dev errors and the need for a major landscape shakeup. Despite the diversion, the zombie element of Warzone has been perceived as a subtly entertaining element, especially on Plunder.

However, it seems that a larger wave is on its way, as leaks suggest that a Warzone Plague mode is on its way where the zombies will take over Verdansk entirely and a nuke is deployed should the undead win.

Audio files pulled by "ZestyCODLeaks" suggest that three new game modes could be set to land in Warzone: Plague, Exfiltration, and Sandbox.

Exfiltration has already been revealed by the developers, which is set to land at the mid-interval of Season 2. The mode will see players fight over coordinates for an exfiltration site in Verdansk, rather than simply being the last man standing.

Plague and Sandbox have yet to be announced, although the foremost mode will see Verdansk in a different light. The audio lines "Zombies have overrun Verdansk and you must take it back. If you fail, the Nuke detonates. If you succeed, you exfil." have all been found, repeated through the comms by Sergeant Frank Woods and Captain Price.

The idea that Verdansk is to be blown up is also further backed up here, as the audio line "Extraction failed, nuke inbound for Verdansk" has been found by the leaker.

Other lines, akin to the style that is used in trials, suggest that a Sandbox mode will be coming too. The leak account said that although the lines are repeated from trials, they were found in the files under the name "Sandbox". ZestyCODLeaks stated "In the video, there are over 150 sound files and I didn’t have enough time to write out the file name for each one. Though, every file was pulled from WZ’s memory, along with the code name of the mode (Sandbox, Exfiltration etc..)".

When these modes will arrive is yet to be seen, although many believe that March 11 will be an important date in the development of the zombie and Warzone storyline.
