What was once the biggest game on the planet has since been accused of becoming just a shadow of itself. For many, Call of Duty's blockbuster battle royale of Warzone is barely recognisable from what it used to be.

Like a decaying corpse, Warzone appears to have rotted, having had little to no content for the core battle royale mode as the focus has shifted to Resurgence, mobile, and multiplayer.

Now, after allegations of continuing ignorance, Warzone players are down in the dumps and dubbing this era as the "most miserable experience" in Call of Duty history.

Warzone itself has had some rough patches, specifically the Caldera year. However, as a franchise, Call of Duty took fans to some dark places. Just whispering Infinite Warfare and WWII is enough to send shivers down my spine.

Yet one popular thread on Reddit has crowned this iteration of Warzone as the worst. Taking to a post titled "As a cod fan for 18 years of my life, current Warzone (Urzikstan) is seriously the most miserable experience I've ever had playing cod. And I mean that," players have been blasting the current state of the game.

Fans have generally noticed fewer updates to the map and the game in recent years, having once seen Verdansk get multiple changes, such as the Stadium opening.

"I'll only play every so often because of how bad it is, and every time it surprises me at how shit it has become," the Reddit post continued, before highlighting everything that has changed for the worse.

Without just lambasting the game, players have actually listed the seven main issues with Warzone in its current state, which are serving like Satan's minions at the gates of hell.

Severe lag, audio, appalling map, boring loot system, terrible net code, stupid quick TTK with the meta guns, and SBMM still being super strong were all listed as the main issues.

"This is the lowest WZ has ever been," another fan reiterated. A third added, "I have quit for months... played since cod 4 and have played all Warzones. It just ain't it anymore for me."

Warzone's future is still uncertain. Will it take Verdansk to come back to save it? Or is the Call of Duty BR truly done and dusted?
