If anyone thinks they're the next big League of Legends "legend", Riot Korea is launching a reality TV series to track you down. Tune in over on the LCK Twitch channel for LoL THE NEXT.

There's a whole LoL THE NEXT site and glossy YouTube video to show what's on the way. 100 plucky hopefuls will compete for this “career-launching" opportunity and a share of a $50,000 prize pool.

Sorry though, this one isn't for newbies. All of the 100 contestants are at Diamond rank or higher in the Korean Solo Queue. Although the format is similar to the thousands of other reality TV shows you've probably seen over the years, LoL THE NEXT has an all-star roster of judges.

Putting their talents to the test are:

Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan - Three-time World Champion and formerly of SKT T1

Heo “PawN” Won-seok - The World's 2014 winner with Samsung Blue

Kim “PraY” Jong-in - World's semi-finalist with KOO Tigers and three-time LCK winner

Jang “MaRin” Gyeong-hwan - World’s winner with SKT T1 and two-time LCK winner

All the judges have either competed together or against each other, which should make for an interesting dynamic. The 100 will be whittled down across the heats as they compete in a variety of challenges.

The road to LoL THE NEXT was a long one. Despite the audition process only being open for 11 days, there were over 1,000 applicants. With the series also promising to show how the elite live, it'll offer a rare insight into League of Legends.

When just 10 remain, they'll be split into two teams of five and compete head-to-head for the grand finale. The finale will take place at Seoul’s custom LoL Park stadium. As well as sharing the $50,000 prize, the winning team will get this mysterious "unique opportunity". The seven-part series debuts on the LCK Twitch channel on August 2.
