We're now six months into Overwatch 2, and having been promised that PvE action will be coming at some point, fans have been wondering just how long we'll have to wait for some storytelling campaign action.

Blizzard Entertainment previously confirmed that the PvE story will not be rolled out as one overarching campaign, and instead, will come in instalments throughout the tenure of the sequel title.

But, with radio silence on the matter since launch, fans have now done some digging. A new leak suggests that Overwatch 2 PvE could be coming sooner than we think.

Overwatch 2 has just entered its fourth season, with the introduction of Lifeweaver and a range of buffs/nerfs to household heroes.

However, Blizzard is already planning the next few waves of content. Although Overwatch 2 PvE isn't supposed to arrive until August, tests for Season 6 have already begun.

As pointed out by Twitter user "FLX_nf", Overwatch 2's first playable test of Season 6 has just gone live, and given that we're three months early, players are beginning to think that there's more than just some hero work going on.

Overwatch 2 playtests suggest PvE will come in Season 6

With the playtests live, fans have quickly begun to put two and two together to assume it must be a PvE update. There are few other future features that would need so much consideration, so it might finally be time to get out the celebratory bubbles.

"PvE probably also coming out with Season 6, no way they're testing 2 seasons ahead of this one just for the hero," one fan said on Twitter.

Thankfully, it should only be a few days until we get some more Overwatch 2 PvE updates, as a "mid-May" roadmap has been promised by developers. Quite a coincidence, it's almost like Blizzard planned this, right?
