Having become one of the better tanks in Overwatch 2, Zarya's time has come to be honoured and celebrated with a new Legendary look - highlighting the sporty badass heroine in a new light.
As the Overwatch 2 League begins to heat up, Zarya has now joined the ever-growing OWL skin lines, as Blizzard has revealed the brand-new Rock Climber design for Zarya.
But, as she joins some celestial company in the OWL skin line, Zarya's Rock Climber has been branded as one of the worst in the bunch. Now, most fans agree the design is "resoundingly meh".
Fans say Overwatch 2's Legendary Zarya skin is 'bland' and 'meh'
After being showcased by Blizzard, the highly anticipated Legendary Zarya Rock Climbing skin has not lived up to expectations. Complaints include her design boasting many of the same colours as her standard look, just spruced up a tad with some climbing gear.
"I gotta love it for the rock climbing part but the colours picked are just the same as her usual ones. Looks a tad bit too bland for an OWL skin," said one fan.
Another added, "Resoundingly meh," while even more fans continued to echo this average sentiment. "Meh. Wake me up when the Moira skin is out," said another.
A fourth concluded, "How she get the worst skins all the time, even the new owl skins are literally the worst on her and she’s still the only hero that hasnt had a normal store skin lol."
Overpriced Legendary Zarya OWL skin slammed by fans
The main complaint for fans is that the Rock Climber Zarya skin isn't as 'legendary' as the other OWL skins, and therefore the hefty 300 tokens needed to buy it aren't warranted.
"This is not worthy of being an OWL token skin. Atlantic Mercy, Pacific DVa & Lucio, Good & Evil Echo, and most of the rest are," said another fan, adding, "This looks like it belongs in a battlepass."
Many of the OWL skins have become the most popular in the game, with Echo's own version of Ebony and Ivory being a best-seller alongside Widowmakers Ange De La Mort.
Zarya's Rock Climber skin won't be moving mountains any time soon, but at least it hasn't crumbled completely.
