Overwatch has finally taken the broad step into pop culture crossovers, and not everyone is convinced. The new One-Punch Man-themed cosmetics are touching down in Overwatch 2, starting with a cosplay skin for Doomfist and extending to other characters with a series of anime skins.

It's a weird stretch, but Blizzard is doing its best to make it work. So, it was no surprise that the company would stretch into this model after going free-to-play. And now, it looks like they've got some other crossovers in mind.

Overwatch 2 devs tease Dragon Ball and Naruto crossovers

In a new round table discussion with the developers of Overwatch 2, Art Director Dion Rogers and Vice President Jon Spector were asked about the collaborations that they'd like to come to Overwatch 2 in the future. Both of their answers are promising for anime fans.

After being asked what they'd like to see join the game next, they each had their own answers - and after a brief pause, Rogers simply said, "Dragon Ball." Easy.

Spector then followed up with his own answer, packed with a caveat - "I think my answer to that is Naruto, except it has sort of been done a lot." This much is true, but it likely wouldn't encroach on Blizzard's chances to pick up the license.

Will Overwatch 2 get Dragon Ball and Naruto skins?

It's hard to say when these crossovers could appear, but there's every chance they could appear in the game eventually.  Though Spector is right in that Naruto has been done before - with it and Dragon Ball making a big splash in Fortnite - that shouldn't keep Overwatch 2 from getting involved.

One-Punch Man looks like it'll be just the start of Overwatch's anime obsession, and to be honest, we're here for it. Even though fans are sceptical for now, there's no doubt that when Roadhog gets a Majin Buu skin, those problems will be forgotten.
