Cosmetics are hugely popular in Modern Warfare 2, but they're also a controversial topic within the player base.

While certain skins are praised by fans, others are slammed for turning CoD into a 'circus,' and some have even been slammed for harming the overall gameplay experience.

However, instead of picking out faults with skins that have already been released, members of the Call of Duty community have come together with a suggestion for the devs.

Instead of the typical colourful, exciting, and flashy cosmetics, MW2 players want 'middle-aged dad' Operators with a more laid-back aesthetic.

Please give me mid-aged dad operator skins please

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user u/WeGottaProblem suggested that MW2 needs 'middle-aged dad' Operator skins.

As showcased in the image, this would involve more of a relaxed appearance that is more realistic for men of a certain age, with standard clothes that mirrors more of an undercover operative.

After seeing this, a player who quit MW2 even admitted that if the devs added "70s 80s and 90s Delta Force operators... I'd actually pay money and start playing again."

Another user even joked that "as an almost middle-aged dad I 100% support this," showing that there is a lot of demand for these types of cosmetics.

CoD players claim this style would've fit Cold War perfectly

Certain members in the thread pointed out that these skins may not fit the MW2 aesthetic in Activision's eyes, but they "would've been good for Cold War" when that was released in 2020.

One user even mentioned that seeing this type of skin made them want to jump back into Cold War but remembered that given the "current situation... it's probably not the greatest idea."

This is because there's a problem with hackers in Cold War at the moment being able to access your IP address and crash matches, so it's recommended you stay away until a fix is rolled out.

Despite this, it's clear there's a demand for more low-key skins that are not too flashy, and the 'middle-aged dad' design could be a direction for the designers to go if they want a free win with the community.
