Skins have become a massive part of Call of Duty in the last few years, especially in MW2 and Warzone 2. However, the types of cosmetics being released by the devs are constantly sparking a debate within the community.

While some players love the flashy collaborations and colourful skins, others would prefer if the designers stuck to a MilSim aesthetic.

Well, the continuous release of these 'silly' and unrealistic cosmetics has led to fans calling out the devs for turning MW2 into a 'circus'.

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, a user made a post asking where the community thinks the devs are taking MW2 in terms of cosmetics.

As expected, this sparked a heated discussion among fans, with a lot of them slamming the cosmetic designers for making the CoD series a 'circus.' One user argued "I'd say fursuits and glowing Tron skins make it a circus... they're going for money."

Another claimed the 'silly' skins are only going to get worse as "Activision is just slowly raising the bar of egregiousness to see how far they can get."

Finally, a user addressed the military-style skins and claimed, "They're doing a really bad attempt at keeping the game grounded to appease the MilSim people like me."

Will Activision continue releasing flashy MW2 skins?

While a portion of the Call of Duty community has a problem with flashy and colourful skins in MW2, it's extremely unlikely that Activision will stop releasing them.

These types of skins often garner the most attention - as seen by the recent Rat Pack cosmetic - and seem to generate a lot of sales in the store.

Only time will tell if the devs decide to pivot to more traditional military-style skins in the future, but with so many collaboration opportunities, that doesn't seem very likely.
