MW2 Fans Love The New Star Wars Crossover
The Call of Duty developers are no strangers to crossovers. In fact, Sledgehammer Games went so overboard in the Vanguard era, fans lost their minds.
The last year saw Arnold Schwarzenegger join The Umbrella Academy, Attack on Titan, King Kong, Godzilla, and Krampus in the post-World War II setting - slowly ripping the realism out of what was supposed to be a rustic arcade depiction of the 1950s.
Modern Warfare 2 promised to strip back these elaborate Fortnite-esque skin designs, though. But this might have been a ploy, as fans are already liking a Star Wars crossover that has been slipped under the radar.
MW2 Season 1 Slips In Secret Star Wars Operators
Coming in Modern Warfare 2 Season 1, Infinity Ward is rolling out its first post-release operator, Zeus. Sharing the name with the God of sky and thunder, this helmet-donning militant looks all too familiar. So much so, sci-fi fanatics think he's actually come from a galaxy far, far away.
The counterterrorism special forces militant is being compared to a species ripped straight out of Star Wars, with his helmet especially resembling the character of Nien Nunb.
Nien Numb's sagging cheeks are rather similar to Zeus' winged helm, which reveal pouted lips akin to the Sullustan arms dealer. The piercing black eyes only heighten the resemblance between the two.
Does MW2 Have A Secret Star Wars Crossover?
Zeus isn't the only stark similarity, as Kortac operator Fender seems to have hitched a ride on the Millenium Falcon to defeat The Mandolarian's Din Djarin and steal his helmet.
Although the two pairs of similarly-looking characters are quite apparent, Activision probably didn't design these to purposefully look like world-renowned movie characters, otherwise we'd have had a barrage of expensive bundles hitting the store. Instead, the helmets appear to be quite a coincidence. But we guess that's fair, how many head-wear designs can be made without some overlap?
