Apex Legends' new Legend has been introduced to the world, and she is a badass. Season 6: Boosted was dropped via a mini teaser trailer and gave us a sneak peek at not only the new weapon coming to the game, but also our brand spanking new Indian Legend – Rampart.

We still don’t know much about Rampart, but keen-eyed dataminers and leakers from the Apex Legends community have clued us in on her history, abilities and more.

Meet Rampart

Expert modder Rampart only adds to the amazing diversity in the Apex Legends characters with her Indian heritage.

Voiced by the infamous Indian-American actress Anjali Bhimani (who is also the voice actor for Symmetra in Overwatch) Rampart looks like the perfect addition to the clan of Legends.

Rampart is a vibing combo of explosive attitude (think Tiny Tina from Borderlands 2), and gritty humour, all while accompanied by her Gatling gun “Sheila” (supposedly her Ult).

Sheila and I are ready to dance; are you?

Apex Legends Rampart’s Lore

Not much is known yet about Rampart’s place in the Apex Legends lore, but the voice notes posted by Apex Legends' Twitter account could give us some clues.

The first voicemail-esque video posted by @PlayApex, featured “Williams” A.K.A Anita Williams A.K.A Bangalore, leaving a message for “P”, telling them “you ever sleep?”. This could quite possibly refer to Rampart’s insane work ethic with her modding. This also confirms that Bangalore and Rampart know each other.

As for “P”, well, dataminer Biast12 has some ideas about that, and what it might mean.

Biast12’s research leads us to the name “Parekh”, and follows this up with a further screenshot (via fellow leaker Shrugtal) of the second @PlayApex voicemail video, where the subtitles read “lovely lady Parekh”.

Apex Legends Rampart’s Abilities

Season 6: Boosted doesn’t drop until August 18, but Rampart’s abilities have been floating around the internet long before the first hint of Rampart’s existence ever came to light.

In code earlier revealed by dataminer Biast12, the character select subtitle for the character is “Base of Fire”. Her abilities appear to revolve around power, power, and more power, with faster reload speeds than her fellow Legends, as well as increased mag capacities.

Build cover with an upper barrier that blocks incoming shots and boosts the damage of outgoing shots.

Place a mounted machine gun that anyone can use. High ammo capacity, long reload time.

Swapping to melee equips a wrench you can use to repair structures.

Firing from cover overcharges your gun damage.

Machine guns have increased magazine capacity and reload faster.

Rampart explodes onto the Apex scene (and into your new Main role) on August 18.
