There are no "bones" about it, Sony has some absolute classics tucked away for a rainy day. Alongside Sly Cooper, Resistance, and Ape Escape, there's a loyal legion of gamers asking whatever happened to MediEvil. Although the Tim Burton-esque hack and slasher has never had the fame it deserved, that could all change.

Originally developed for the PlayStation by SCE Studio Cambridge in 1998, the cartoonish MediEvil became synonymous with the central figure of Sir Daniel Fortesque. A sequel arrived in 2002, while the first game was been remade TWICE in 2005 and 2019. Now, a MediEvil movie could be on the way.

Sony seemingly leaks MediEvil movie

The r/gamingleaksandrumours subreddit spotted that PlayStation Productions now has a dedicated site for all the upcoming movies and shows it has in the works. During the mission statement video, it appears that there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it glimpse at Fortesque's legs.

Other projects like The Last of Us and God of War are also glimpsed, with HBO's The Last of Us series being a benchmark on video game adaptations and similarly high hopes for Amazon's upcoming God of War. It might seem like a big jump to assume MediEvil will get the same treatment, but there's more to it.

As the news took off that we're getting a MediEvil adaptation, Hollywood writers Ben Mekler and Chris Amik retweeted the source with some cryptic responses. As both Mekler and Amik worked on the Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight series, there's a chance the MediEvil movie is actually an animated series.

Days Gone movie also teased

Elsewhere in the video, we see Deacon St. John from Days Gone. Bend Studios' apocalyptic adventure was a big hit back in 2019, and while its planned sequel has been given the boot, there's still a lot of love for the PlayStation exclusive.

We previously reported on a mythical Days Gone movie, with Outlander's Sam Heughan reportedly attached to play Deacon St. John. The movie was never confirmed, and although most had forgotten about it, the PlayStation Productions site has just lit a fire beneath the idea all over again.

Looking at the PlayStation Productions slate, it's dabbled in everything from the Tom Holland-led Uncharted movie to the recent Gran Turismo adaptation. Up there with planned Ghost of Tsushima and Gravity Rush outings, MediEvil and Days Gone could be in some solid company.
