Hidden Metal Gear Solid 3 remake detail is a win for fans

Well, it finally happened. With fans not expecting a morsel from his works given his relationship with Summer Game Fest's Geoff Keighley, Hideo Kojima's masterpiece is coming back with a bite.
May 2023's PlayStation Showcase was a real treat for Metal Gear Solid fans, confirming that the first three games in the series will be readily available to play on new-gen consoles this year, but that Snake Eater (the game that many feel is the storytelling peak of MGS) is getting a full remake. Rejoice.
This is massive news, as this is the first MGS remake we've been lucky enough to have - and we can't wait to see Snake back in action. If this wasn't good enough news for returning fans of the series, Konami has teased another feature of the game that's bound to keep them happy.
MGS Snake Eater will feature original voice actors

As revealed by a new blog post on the Konami website, it looks like the company is dedicated to faithfully replicating the original experience of the fan-favourite Metal Gear Solid game, as Snake Eater is set to feature the return of the original game's voice actors.
"The remake will star the original voice characters, rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound," says the post. This is exciting, although it hasn't officially revealed who will be returning or whether all the original cast will be back.
There's every chance that Snake and co. could sound different, but at the very least, we know some of the alumni will return for the remake. Others are questioning whether the rebranded Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will simply reuse the old audio instead of hiring new voice actors, but we doubt this is the case.
When is Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater coming out?
Despite months of rumours Snake Eater has only just been announced, meaning we currently don't know anything about the release date. Still, fans are theorising that it could see a release at some point next year.
What we do know for sure, is the consoles that the game will be coming to - PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam for PC, and presumably the Steam Deck. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Easter is set to be pretty faithful, and fans can't wait to see what lies in store in that grim swamp. Bring it on.
