GTA Glitch Is Giving Everyone Beards
The Grand Theft Auto series, while immensely popular, still isn't entirely free of bugs. In fact, it became something of a defining feature of the franchise this year.
A dismal launch of the GTA Remastered Trilogy brought broken reworkings of classic titles that were packed to the brim with bizarre glitches that either ruin or enhance the experience - depending on which side of the fence you sit on. It looks like even the modern GTA titles aren't safe, as one bizarre bug is giving everyone beards.
Why Is A New GTA Glitch Giving Players Beards?
A strange new glitch has arrived in GTA Online alongside The Contract story DLC that is giving players beards out of nowhere. Not everyone wants to rock the face fuzz, but it doesn't look like you have a choice.
The bug was discovered when one player in the GTA Online subreddit entered Short Trips for the first time. It's a mode that offers players the chance to play as a character different from their own.
When they were given the option to choose a new character, they cycled back over to their own character to find that they'd suddenly grown a beard out of the blue. Even stranger, it just won't go away. This is one of the weirder glitches we've heard of, but some commenters in the GTA Online subreddit think they've cracked why this is happening.
GTA Fans Crack The Case Of The Mysterious Beard Glitch
While one commenter seems to think they've got a good idea as to why this beard has appeared ("Testosterone", reads the succinct comment. They might be onto something), another thinks that they've identified exactly why this glitch is taking place.
"This bug as far as I can tell, basically just applies your other characters' facial hair + makeup + facial shape onto your current character," reacted a commenter. "My second character is an Asian woman, whilst my main character is a white man; at the time I was on my second character and my character had my main character's facial hair + a male face - but had the same parents and thus looked Asian."
It's a typically GTA glitch for sure, and it's strange that it's coming up in the new update - but in all honestly, it's not even close to the worst glitches that Rockstar have turned out this year. It's not a good flex, but it's a flex regardless.
